Dr. April St. John-Keenoy
DO
Mental health is just as essential as physical health—they’re deeply connected and equally important. My approach to therapy is rooted in this understanding, combining traditional therapeutic techniques with integrative, holistic care to support your overall well-being.
With extensive experience in substance dependence and comprehensive medicine, I specialize in a range of approaches including holistic health, alternative therapies, integrative practices, and lifestyle medicine. I view wellness as a vital and complementary part of healing, and I’m passionate about helping clients build a positive, empowered relationship with their health.
I earned my degree from Harvard University, followed by my medical studies in osteopathic medicine at Michigan State University. My background allows me to bring a unique, multidimensional perspective to mental health care—one that honors the mind-body connection and the diverse experiences that shape who we are.
As someone who is biracial, born in Michigan and raised in San Diego, I deeply value cultural sensitivity and inclusivity in my work. Growing up in Southern California enriched my life with diverse traditions and perspectives, and becoming bilingual in Spanish has helped me connect more deeply with the people I serve.
Whether you’re just beginning your mental health journey or looking to deepen the work you’ve already started, I’m here to support you with care, respect, and collaboration—every step of the way.
Let’s work together to build a healthier, more balanced life.
